Not Your Everyday Farm

I am still hung over, in a healthy way.....

The Big K and I make it a point to always go somewhere to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Since I started blogging I was able to write about our anniversary trips in Hong Kong and Tagaytay.

This year's anniversary celebration, we decided to go on a road trip. The Big K only had a few days off so driving somewhere near the metro was preferable.

Now where does one go for a romantic celebration that is within an hour or two hour's drive away?

The Farm at San Benito

The Farm at San Benito in Batangas is an hour and a half drive south of Metro Manila.

The Farm at San Benito is a wellness center set in a lush coconut plantation with a great view of Mt. Malarayat in Batangas, a province south of Metro Manila. This eco-friendly place is literally a health farm and they offer holistic healing treatments and wellness packages.

I had been to The Farm on a day tour with friends a few years back when it was still relatively new. I was quite impressed on how peaceful and beautiful the place was that I promised myself that I will go back one day with the Big K.

The Narra Pool Villa

The Farm has 7 types of accommodation available. Since the Big K and I were celebrating our anniversary we decided to splurge a little bit and booked one of their Narra Pool Villas. The villas are one of their newer accommodations located on a ridge along a stream. And as the name implies each villa has their own pool, not just any kind of pool but an infinity pool overlooking the lush forest. Communing with nature at its best!

The path leading to our villa.
Can you spell awesome?!
The villa's huge spa-like bathroom.
It even has two toilets! His and Hers? I ended up calling them the half-ventilation for no.1 and the full-ventilation for no.2 WCs. All natural! Remember this is an eco-friendly place.
All handmade bath amenities: coconut soaps, shampoo and conditioner, lemongrass, sea salt and coconut body polish (I love this!) and virgin coconut oil. They even provide you a bug-off spray. While their "Love and Thanks" drinking water comes in a lovely bee skep shaped glass jar. I wonder where I can get one of those jars.

Alive! Restaurant

The Farm's sole restaurant offers 100% vegan cuisine with ingredients harvested from their own organic gardens. You couldn't get healthier than that, can you?

My vegan friends will definitely be happy here. While my meat-loving friends, the Big K included, will just have to content themselves with the restaurant's pseudo-meat offerings.
The Organic Garden
No meat here, baby! I never thought vegan food could be so appetizing. These are just some of the food we tried during our stay. I assure you everything we had was so good!

The Healing Sanctuary

I am a sucker for spa treatments. Naturally I wouldn't miss out trying some of the Healing Sanctuary's treatments. Their Hilot massage was one of the best that I've ever had while their Earth Facial was just average.

A majestic view of Mt. Malarayat from the Healing Sanctuary's infinity pool.

More of The Farm

The waterfall pool inside the secret garden.
The South Pool where afternoon tea and snacks are served.
The sprawling mango tree where the resident peacocks and peahens roost at night.
Yup! You read it right. Aside from their resident ducks The Farm also has a dozen or so peacocks and peahens roaming freely around the place.
I was hoping for a loose peacock feather tail.....
Instead this is what I found. Oh well!
The Lagoon
Returning to our room after our afternoon walk, we were pleasantly surprised with the little extra in the evening's turn down service. Oh! And we also got a yummy chocolate cake for dessert.

The big K and I had a wonderful and relaxing 3-day stay at The Farm. Not to mention a much needed healthy break specially coming from the eat-all-you-can Christmas holidays. We enjoyed our stay so much we are already planning to go back. Now to convince the Big K to leave his takeaway lechon at home.....
